How can a father and son reconcile when they misunderstand each other: Is it by giving each of them a chance to speak, or by blaming the son?

In Islam, the father holds a great status, and his contentment is from the contentment of Allah. Therefore, one must accompany him with kindness, even if the child differs with him in religion. Parents must be treated with soft speech, lowered voices, and lowered wings of humility. One should not say "uff" to them, nor scold them, nor withhold what they desire. Islamic law guarantees the child the right to discuss with his father and advise him gently and respectfully, as Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) did with his father.
