Is reading the Qur’an visually considered a recitation for which its doer is rewarded, and is it permissible to complete the Qur’an in this manner, especially if the contemplation, understanding, comprehension, and emotional impact are greater when reading visually compared to reading aloud or chanting?

Reading the Qur’an with the eyes only, without moving the tongue, is not considered recitation, and one is not rewarded with the reward of recitation for it. Rather, it is contemplation of the Qur’an, and the Muslim is rewarded for it. The most complete approach is to combine recitation with the tongue and contemplation with the heart. Moving the tongue without vocalizing is sufficient. The reward associated with recitation necessitates moving the tongue, and for this reason, the worshipper must move their tongue when reciting and performing the obligatory remembrance; for whoever does not do so, their prayer is invalid.
