Is it forbidden to watch men on television without lust when watching the news or any other program?
A Muslim must protect their senses from that which is useless or forbidden by Allah, as Allah the Almighty says: "Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all these one will be questioned." And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The gaze is a poisoned arrow from the arrows of Iblis." Television often displays forbidden things and music, so looking at it is generally blameworthy. As for a woman looking at what is commonly visible of a man for a need and without lust, it is permissible. However, looking at television is not from this category. Therefore, she should turn away from what is of no benefit and occupy herself with what has praiseworthy consequences.
