Is it reprehensible to have intercourse with one's wife with the intention of procreation during the Umrah journey?
It is forbidden for a man to have intercourse with his wife while both are in a state of ihram for Hajj or Umrah, and it is forbidden for her to comply with him. However, if he has intercourse with her before entering ihram for Umrah or after completing it, there is no sin upon them, even if they are in Mecca and intend to enter ihram again. Intercourse is permissible for the chastity of oneself and one's wife, and a Muslim is rewarded for it. The reward increases with the intention of procreation. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged marriage to the loving and fertile woman to increase the numbers of the Ummah. These virtues of intercourse are not exclusive to travel for Hajj or Umrah; rather, they are general at all permissible times.
