The question

Is it permissible to perform a marriage contract with a girl for a period of three years without consummation due to financial and social circumstances? And is it permissible to see her in a picture or video before proposing to her? And is it permissible to send her religious lectures and sermons to her private account without engaging in conversation?

The answer

There is no harm in performing the Shariah contract with a delayed consummation, provided the guardian's permission and the presence of witnesses. However, the delay should not be prolonged to avoid problems and missing out on good. Marriage is one of the good deeds that should be expedited, facilitated, and not hindered. Seeing the fiancée through pictures or videos is permissible out of necessity, but it is not permissible to keep or own these pictures or videos. There is no objection to sending her lectures and sermons after the contract or engagement, with caution if it is merely an engagement, so that it does not become a pretext for what displeases Allah.
