Which is better for memorizing the Quran: to memorize according to the methodology of the Companions by understanding every ten verses, or to memorize the entire Quran first and then begin to understand the rulings, Tajweed, Quranic sciences, and Tafsir?

If it is possible to combine memorizing the Quran with understanding its meanings, that is best. However, if it is difficult, then beginning with memorization while applying the rules of Tajweed is more preferable, due to what has been reported regarding the virtue of memorizing the Quran. This also facilitates understanding Tafsir (exegesis) and the sciences of the Quran.
