How does one receive the reward for their deeds and the prayers of their children many years after their death? And is their vision of their abode based on Allah's prior knowledge of the reward they will attain? And how will a person fear on the Day of Judgment if they were given glad tidings of Paradise at the time of death or in the grave?

The one who is given glad tidings of Hellfire, to abide therein eternally, will not benefit from supplication or the reward of deeds. As for others, they will be rewarded for their ongoing charity and the supplication of their righteous child. A servant may be given glad tidings of his place (in Paradise) due to his deeds or the earnings of his righteous child and his ongoing charity, because a child is part of his earnings. There is no contradiction between a person being given glad tidings of Paradise at the time of his death and his experiencing the terror of the Stand (on the Day of Judgment).
