Is it possible to authenticate and verify the narration: (Urwah ibn Az-Zubayr entrusted Abu Bakr ibn Abdur-Rahman ibn Al-Harith ibn Hisham with some money belonging to Mus'ab. He said: So the money, or part of it, was lost while with Abu Bakr. Urwah sent to him, saying: "There is no guarantee upon you; you are only a trustee." Abu Bakr said: "I knew there was no guarantee upon me, but you would not want the Quraysh to hear that my trustworthiness has been ruined." Then he sold some of his own property and repaid it)?
This narration was reported by Ibn Sa'd in Al-Tabaqat Al-Kubra through the chain of Abdullah bin Ja'far from Othman bin Muhammad. Both Abdullah bin Ja'far and Othman bin Muhammad are considered "sadooq" (truthful) but with some "awham" (delusions/errors). None of the scholars of hadith have authenticated or weakened it.
