What is the ruling on working in a shop that sells dolls and toys in the shape of humans, and is it permissible to start fasting at a later time due to this work?

It is permissible to acquire children's toys in the form of statues and pictures. This is supported by the hadith of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she used to play with dolls (girls' toys) in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). This was an exception to the general prohibition of acquiring images. The majority of scholars permitted the sale of these toys for girls to train them in matters of their homes and children.

As for dolls that are complete in form and perfectly mimic Allah's creation, especially if they have movement or sound, there is hesitation regarding their permissibility. It is better to avoid them, although their prohibition is not definitively established. For those who wish to be cautious, it is permissible to remove the head or alter its features.

Regarding the effect of such actions on fasting, sins diminish the reward of the fasting person and may deprive them of it, but they do not invalidate the fast or necessitate making it up. A Muslim should refrain from sins at all times, especially in Ramadan.
