What is the ruling on one who did not perform the Farewell Tawaf and did not visit the grave of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?
Whoever abandons the farewell circumambulation (Tawaf al-Wada') is obligated to offer a sacrifice (dam), which is the slaughter of a sheep to be distributed among the poor of the Haram. It is permissible to appoint someone to perform this on one's behalf. If one cannot find the money for the sacrifice, then one must fast for ten days, whether consecutively or intermittently. As for visiting the grave of the Prophet, peace be upon him, it is neither a condition for the validity of Hajj nor one of its obligations.
