Does the noble verse, "And those who restrain anger and pardon people—and Allah loves the doers of good," apply to one spouse confessing to the other the commission of a grave sin, such that forgiveness is presumed instead of anger or divorce?

Adultery is a grave sin, and it is even more heinous when committed by a married person. Whoever falls into this should repent and conceal their sin. As for divorce, if the husband believes his wife's repentance is sincere, it is better to keep her. If he believes her repentance is not sincere, it is better to divorce her. The husband should strive to ensure his wife's chastity, including not being absent for more than six months, while emphasizing that the husband's absence or dereliction of duty does not justify the wife committing adultery.
