Does the meaning of the noble verse: "And those who believed and whose offspring followed them in faith – We will join their offspring with them," signify that parents will precede their children into Paradise?

The meaning of the verse is that if the offspring of a believer who died upon faith have lower ranks in Paradise than their parents, they will be elevated to their parents' ranks in Paradise. It does not mean that the parents enter Paradise before their children. Ibn Kathir narrated from Ibn Abbas that the believing offspring will be joined with their parents in their higher stations without any diminution of their deeds. Al-Tabarani narrated a hadith from Ibn Abbas, which I believe is from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that if a man enters Paradise and inquires about his family, and they have not reached his rank, he will be commanded to have them join him. Al-Shawkani mentioned in "Fath al-Qadir" that Allah raises the offspring of a believer to Him, even if their deeds are lesser, to gladden their hearts, provided that they are believers, and this includes both adults and children.
