Is it permissible to give to a needy relative whose apartment was damaged by fire and who does not have sufficient funds to renovate it, from zakat funds?

The recipients of zakat are eight categories as mentioned in the verse (At-Tawbah: 60). If your relative is poor and their salary and possessions are insufficient for their essential expenses, including the renovation of their home if it genuinely needs renovation, then it is permissible to give them from zakat. The poor person eligible for zakat is one who does not find enough for themselves and their dependents for their basic needs for a year, which includes food, drink, clothing, housing, and medicine. The majority of scholars have held that the poor person is given from zakat what suffices them and their family for a full year.
