Did anyone interpret Surat Ad-Duha to mean that Ad-Duha refers to the face of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Al-Layl to his hair? And did anyone further add that Ad-Duha refers to the males of his household and Al-Layl to their females? And is this interpretation from the tafsir of Fakhr al-Din al-Razi?

One of the things that preoccupies some preachers from guiding people is that Satan distracts them with matters that are difficult for the listeners to comprehend. It is more appropriate to remind people in sermons of what they understand, what is confirmed to be true, and to address people according to their intellectual capacities. In the tradition, it is narrated on the authority of Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: "You would not tell a people a narration that their minds cannot grasp, except that it would be a tribulation for some of them." Narrated by Muslim. And Al-Bukhari narrated in his Sahih, as a commentary, on the authority of Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: "Speak to people about what they know. Do you wish that Allah and His Messenger be disbelieved?"

What you mentioned in the sermon is a departure from the apparent meaning without evidence, whereas the principle is to prioritize the apparent meaning and not deviate from it except with evidence. The scholars of the Salaf have indeed interpreted the verse according to its apparent and readily understood meaning. Ibn Kathir said: "This is an oath from Him, the Exalted, by the forenoon (Ad-Duha) and what He has placed therein of light, and by the night when it covers (saja) – meaning: it becomes still, dark, and gloomy, as stated by Mujahid, Qatadah, Ad-Dahhak, Ibn Zayd, and others." And in the well-established and accepted interpretative traditions, it is narrated: Al-Tabari transmitted with a good chain of narration from Qatadah regarding: "Ad-Duha" – he said: "A specific hour of the day." Al-Tabari transmitted with a good chain of narration from Qatadah regarding: "And by the night when it covers (saja)" – he said: "It becomes still for the creation."
