Why do we seek refuge from poverty, when the poor, specifically the poor among the Muhajirun, will have priority in entering Paradise after the Prophet (peace be upon him)?

Poverty is a tribulation. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, legislated seeking refuge from it and its trials, and he would supplicate for wealth that aids in doing good deeds. The poor will precede the rich into Paradise, because their reckoning is lighter, not because poverty is better. The superiority among people is based on deeds, not on wealth or poverty. What is meant by seeking refuge from poverty is extreme poverty that leads to trials. Several hadiths have been reported regarding the Prophet's, peace and blessings be upon him, seeking refuge from poverty.
