Is the authenticity of the hadith "Do not taunt your brother for what is in him, lest Allah cure him and afflict you" to mean that whoever taunts a sick person will be afflicted with the same illness?

The wording of the hadith is: "Do not express malicious joy at your brother's misfortune, for Allah may have mercy on him and afflict you." Its meaning is that rejoicing at others' misfortune may lead to you being afflicted with the very illness or calamity you gloated over, or Allah may have mercy on the person you gloated over. So, whoever expresses malicious joy at a Muslim's misfortune may be punished by Allah afflicting them while the one they gloated over is granted well-being. And whoever repents from this sin, Allah will accept their repentance and the punishment will be lifted from them.
