Will crossing the Sirat take place before the Day of Reckoning, meaning before the Earth is changed, or during the changing of the Earth, knowing that crossing the Sirat and entering Paradise or Hell occurs after people have been judged?

Passing over the Sirat (bridge) only occurs after the Reckoning. As for the changing of the heavens and the earth, scholars have differed on its manner and timing, presenting several opinions.

The sum of these opinions is that the changing occurs twice: 1. The first time: A change in characteristics (sifat), and this is before the Reckoning and before the trumpet blast of unconsciousness (nafkhat as-sa'q). The appearance of the earth and sky will change, the planets will scatter, the sun and moon will be eclipsed, the seas will become fire, and the earth will split apart. 2. The second time: A change in essence (dhat), and this is in the gathering place (Mahshar) before the Sirat, where the earth will be replaced with another earth, white and reddish, like a pure loaf of bread. Then, after that, people will stand on the Sirat.

These opinions have been reconciled by stating that the first change is in characteristics before the trumpet blast of unconsciousness, and the second change is in essence in the Mahshar before the Sirat. The hadiths indicate that people will be gathered on the changed earth before the Sirat, where their gathering and reckoning will take place.
