What should I do about my polytheist female colleague at work who does not acknowledge the existence of God and plays loud music when the Qur’an is in the room, which causes me distress in dealing with her?

The questioner is advised to avoid speaking with the woman if she cannot convince her, and to move away from the place if possible. If that is not possible, then there is no sin upon her for sitting with her, but she must prevent the woman from harming her with the sound of musical instruments. If the woman raises the sound of musical instruments in reaction to the playing of the Quran, then the questioner should not raise the sound of the Quran, because warding off harm takes precedence over achieving a benefit. If the woman does not cease her annoyance, then she should report the matter to the authorities, occupy herself with what benefits her, and avoid speaking with the woman except within the confines of work.
