What should a person do who works in an office where the sound of the Qur’an and music are mixed, and he has advised his colleagues to lower the volume of the music without success? Is this mixing permissible? Should he stop listening to the Qur’an? And is he sinful if he does not continue to advise them, knowing their refusal and their awareness of its prohibition?

It is not permissible to recite the Quran or play its recordings in an environment filled with noise, to avoid exposing others to sin due to not listening to the Quran, and because it demonstrates a lack of respect for the Holy Quran, in compliance with the Almighty's saying: "And when the Quran is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy." It is advisable to address the issue by guiding and advising people, and if they do not respond, then at the very least, one must denounce the wrongdoing in one's heart. Furthermore, preoccupation with Quranic recitation should not lead to slowness in work.
