What is the ruling on advancing to the second year of university after cheating on exams, and does the hadith: "Whoever cheats us is not of us" apply to it?

Cheating in exams is not permissible due to the general evidence prohibiting deception, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever cheats us is not of us" and "Whoever cheats is not of me." This includes all forms of cheating.

Cheating in exams leads to various harms and sins, including taking what one is not entitled to, consuming wealth unlawfully, corrupting deeds, and engaging in bribery.

It is obligatory for anyone afflicted by this to repent to Allah.
