Is it permissible to design an electronic book about the Quran with colors and natural images that serve the aesthetic appeal of the content and attract the reader, while adapting the colors and images according to the subject (such as dark colors for Hell and green for Paradise), without intending to depict matters of the unseen, but rather to convey a certain feeling? And if that is not permissible, can these ideas be kept in personal notebooks without publishing them?

There is no objection to creating an electronic book about the Qur’an with its chapters colored according to their themes (dark for Hellfire, green for Paradise), provided that no drawings are included that might be thought to depict Hellfire or Paradise. This is because depicting unseen matters is forbidden as it constitutes speaking about Allah without knowledge. Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, said: "Nothing in Paradise resembles anything in this world except in names." Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen issued a fatwa prohibiting the drawing of Paradise and Hellfire, because we do not know their true nature. If the work is free from this prohibition, then there is no objection.
