What is the ruling on traveling to and residing in Western European countries, such as Germany, with the aim of securing better living and economic conditions, easily and conveniently observing religious rituals, and avoiding the harassments and tribulations present in one's home country? Is it permissible to supplicate for the guidance of one's family to agree to this journey?

The availability of hot water has no bearing on the ability to openly manifest the rituals of religion; rather, it is a facility for acts of worship. The ability to openly manifest rituals means performing them publicly without fear, and demonstrating Islam and its rituals without harm. If this ability is realized, and there is no fear of temptation (fitna) in religion for the Muslim or for those under their responsibility, then it is permissible for them to reside in non-Muslim lands. There is no harm in asking one's family to go there. Praying for the family's approval to travel is permissible, and it is better to pray for the facilitation of what is best, and for Allah to choose what contains well-being in religion and in worldly life, such as the supplication: "O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religion, my worldly life, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my flaws and calm my fears. O Allah, protect me from before me, from behind me, from my right, from my left, and from above me. I seek refuge in Your greatness from being assassinated from beneath me."
