Is repairing tobacco machines forbidden, and is divorce required if the husband does not change his work, and is the money earned from this work permissible or forbidden?

It is not permissible to work in repairing tobacco tools because it involves assisting in a forbidden act. The Islamic law has prohibited everything that is harmful, and tobacco is harmful by consensus. The husband must be urged to seek a permissible livelihood, for Allah Almighty's bounty is attained only through obedience to Him, and sin deprives one of sustenance. It is permissible to seek a divorce if the husband does not provide permissible maintenance, and it is not lawful to take money derived from this earning except out of necessity. One must seek help from Allah and strengthen the husband's faith.
