Is it permissible to treat oneself with frankincense for black magic, given that all other methods have been ineffective?

Magic is real, and it is permissible to protect oneself from it by regularly reciting the prescribed dhikr (remembrances of Allah) and ta'awwudhat (seeking refuge in Allah), and by performing lawful ruqyah (incantations) for anyone afflicted or who suspects affliction, or even for someone not afflicted, to ward off harm. One must avoid charlatans and impostors who use incense and other forbidden treatments, for resorting to them and believing them is an act of disbelief (kufr), and Allah has not made the cure of this Ummah (Muslim nation) in what He has forbidden to it.

An-Nushrah (a method of dispelling magic) is of two types: 1. Dispelling magic with magic, which is from the work of Satan and is forbidden. 2. An-Nushrah through ruqyah, ta'awwudhat, and permissible supplications, which is lawful.

For treatment and protection, it is recommended to recite Surat Al-Baqarah every three nights, and Surat Al-Ikhlas, the Mu'awwidhatayn (Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas), Ayatul-Kursi, and the concluding verses of Surat Al-Baqarah every night, along with adhering to obligatory duties and acts of obedience, and purifying the home from sins. Also, frequently recite the supplication of Dhun-Nun, the supplication "O Allah, I ask You, for to You belongs all praise...", and the supplication "O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant...". And frequently recite the morning and evening dhikr, and pray four rak'ahs at the beginning of the day. Drink Zamzam water over which Al-Fatiha has been recited, and give charity frequently.
