What is the ruling on Quranic incantations that are placed in water and drunk for protection against the evil eye and sorcery?

There is no harm in reciting Qur'an over water for drinking or for bathing with it, for that is one of the permissible and beneficial methods of ruqyah. Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned that he experienced this and found it to be of great benefit.
