Is it permissible to combine and shorten prayers (جمع وقصر) when traveling to another house for leisure, where there is no hardship involved?

If the distance traveled is a travel distance (masafat safar) and you do not intend to stay four days or more at your destination, then it is permissible to shorten the prayer (qasr al-salat), even if you own a house there, as long as you have settled in another town. However, if the distance is less than a travel distance, or if it is a travel distance with the intention of staying four days or more, then it is obligatory to complete the prayer (itmam al-salat) according to the majority of scholars, and it is not permissible to avail oneself of the concessions of travel (rukhs al-safar); because the ruling of travel is interrupted by the intention to reside for that period.
