Is it permissible to apply a compression bandage or gauze to a visible leg injury during Hajj or Umrah rituals, in order to cover the injury and avoid people's pity?

There is no harm in wrapping a cloth around an injured part of the leg, and no expiation (fidyah) is required for that; as this is not among the prohibitions of ihram. However, if the wrapping is on the head, then expiation is required, because it prevents wearing stitched garments or other coverings on the head. Nevertheless, there is no sin upon the pilgrim for having an excuse.
