What is the authenticity of the hadith: "Whoever recites the Qur'an has encompassed prophethood between his two sides, except that he is not divinely inspired. It is not befitting for the companion of the Qur'an to dispute with those who dispute, nor to be ignorant with those who are ignorant, for in his heart is the speech of Allah"? And what is meant by "to dispute with those who dispute" if the hadith is authentic?

The Hadith "Whoever reads the Quran has ascended to Prophethood..." is not authentically attributed as a Marfu' (elevated) narration, but rather it is Hasan Mawquf (good, suspended) on Abdullah ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him. As for the meanings of its different wordings, such as "he finds with those who find" or "he limits with those who limit," they indicate that the bearer of the Quran should not be attached to worldly life, nor should he be arrogant or boastful. Rather, he should adorn himself with noble character traits like forgiveness and clemency, instead of anger and revenge.
