Is a man rewarded for his patience with an ill-tempered wife for the sake of the children, and is he accountable for her negligence in religious matters due to her ignorance, and is he sinful if he does not wake her for prayer due to his anger with her?

If the husband patiently endures his wife's ill-temper, he will be rewarded for it, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "No believing man should hate a believing woman; if he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another." The husband must treat his disobedient wife in accordance with Allah's commands, and he must awaken her for prayer and guide her in matters of her religion because he is responsible for her.
