Is it considered forbidden to use research prepared by a friend of mine at university and resubmit it under my name after he has given me permission to do so, knowing that the sole purpose is to pass the course?

Cheating on exams is forbidden (haram) and impermissible, whether the subject is fundamental or not. Whoever commits this act must offer sincere repentance, accompanied by remorse and a firm resolve never to return to it. If the subject in which one cheated is not related to the job one holds, it is hoped that one's salary will be permissible (halal) after repentance.
