What is the ruling on receiving wages from the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, knowing that the source of these funds is charities that are mingled with or are not for the sake of Allah, or are they for the sake of Allah?

Vows and charities placed at shrines, if intended to draw closer to the deceased, are polytheistic (shirk) and void. They must be returned to their owner – if known – otherwise, they should be given as charity to the poor and needy. If they are intended to draw closer to Allah, they are forbidden, due to the implicit approval of the shrines and the polytheistic acts that occur there. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fulfilling a vow in a place where other than Allah is worshipped.

The funds collected in the coffers of shrines must be spent on the poor and needy who have no connection to those graves, and should not be given to those who work at these shrines, as they aid and promote polytheism.

It is permissible to take money from these coffers for one who is a deserving poor person, but on condition that this does not lead to approving of the shrines and what is done there, or encouraging the ignorant to give charity there.

If the teaching will be announced as being under the supervision of these shrines, then it is not permissible to work there, even if it is free, because it involves approving of evil. However, if this is not announced, then there is no harm in working and receiving money for it. It is preferable not to work with them, and what you do alone is sufficient.
