What is the posture of a person's sleep in the grave, and will his head or his feet be towards the Qiblah, so that he rises sitting with his face towards it at the Resurrection?

The deceased is buried in their grave on their right side, with their face towards the Qibla. This has been the practice of Muslims since the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him. The hadith of Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, indicates that the deceased should be turned on their side towards the Qibla, and it is sunnah that the best and most upright part of them should be facing the Qibla.
