What is the ruling on sitting with women who claim to tell fortunes, out of curiosity, even if one is convinced of their falsehood?

It is not permissible for a Muslim to go to soothsayers, sit with them, or believe them, due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "Whoever comes to a soothsayer or a diviner and believes what he says, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." A soothsayer is one who informs about unseen future matters and claims knowledge of the unseen. And whoever comes to a soothsayer without believing him, his prayer will not be accepted for forty days. The prohibition becomes more severe if the soothsayer is a foreign woman.
