Are the circulating hadiths regarding the origin of Arabs and the Arabic language, including: "The first whose tongue spoke clear Arabic was Ishmael when he was fourteen years old," and "I enjoin you to treat the Arabs well, for they are the origin of the Arabs and the army of Islam," authentic and firmly established from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in the aforementioned wordings?

There is no authentic hadith that specifies who was the first to speak Arabic. The narrations mentioned in this regard, such as: "The first to speak Arabic, having forgotten his father's language, was Isma'il ibn Ibrahim," and "The first whose tongue was opened to clear Arabic was Isma'il," have weak chains of transmission and cannot be authentically attributed to the Prophet, peace be upon him.

It has been established that the tribe of Jurhum spoke Arabic before Isma'il, peace be upon him, and that Isma'il learned Arabic from them. If the narration that Isma'il was the first to speak Arabic is authentic, then it must be interpreted to mean "an increase in eloquence" or "the first among the children of Ibrahim to speak it," and not an absolute first.

As for the hadith, "I enjoin you to treat the Bedouins well, for they are the root of the Arabs and the army of Islam," it is not a prophetic hadith. Rather, it is a statement attributed to Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him.

A Muslim must verify the authenticity of a hadith before narrating it from the Prophet, peace be upon him, and be wary of the false hadiths circulating on forums and social media.
