It is necessary to exercise wisdom and deliberation to avoid divorce and family disintegration; for divorce is originally prohibited and only permitted out of extreme necessity, such as differences in character and animosity that prevent the observance of Allah's limits. A wife leaving the house without her husband's permission is not permissible and is considered an act of defiance (nushooz). Do not let jealousy or anger be a reason for making rash decisions. The advice is to manage the wife gently, establish foundations for interaction between the spouses, and exercise self-control when solving problems.
