The believer must exercise patience, perseverance, and steadfastness in obedience. The prophets and messengers endured harm for the sake of their religion. The Prophet informed us that the reward of one who performs deeds during days of patience is like the reward of fifty men. There is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator. Lying and dissimulation are permissible when necessary for performing acts of worship. A traveler has concessions regarding prayer; it is permissible to shorten the four-rak'ah prayer to two rak'ahs and to combine prayers. One must utilize these concessions to perform prayer away from its mother (i.e., its original prescribed form).
