How is it possible to betray Allah, His Messenger, and the trusts mentioned in the verse: "O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence]?"

The noble verse: "O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence]" (Al-Anfal: 27), was revealed concerning the story of Abu Lubabah Al-Ansari. It indicates the immense importance of trust (amanah) and that fulfilling it is a sign of a believer's uprightness and integrity.

A believer's betrayal of Allah and His Messenger means neglecting the rights of Allah and His Messenger regarding commands and prohibitions, or showing loyalty to the enemies of Allah and His Messenger. Trusts (amanat) include all of Allah's rights over His servants, such as monotheism (Tawhid), purity, prayer (Salat), zakat, and fasting, as well as the rights of people over one another, such as deposits.

Betrayal encompasses minor and major sins and includes the deeds for which Allah has entrusted His servants. Any hidden disobedience is considered a betrayal. Trust (amanah) holds immense significance in the uprightness of Muslims and is an indicator of the soul's integrity and rectitude.
