What is the ruling on deodorant with a pleasant scent when a woman goes out, and what should the questioner do with his mother who uses it? What is the ruling on a married sister going out adorned and in her tight hijab that reveals the shape of her hair and her jewelry, and is it permissible to boycott her to deter her? What is the ruling on using simple cosmetics like powder to whiten the face? And what is the ruling on a woman wearing different colors in her clothes, such as red, green, and burgundy?

It is forbidden for a woman to leave her house while perfumed with incense, perfumes, or anything similar whose scent spreads, due to the proven Prophetic hadiths that prohibit this and consider it among the major sins, because it entails fitnah (temptation) for men.

As for deodorant: it is permissible to use it if its function is limited to removing unpleasant odor without its scent spreading, provided it is free from impurity or harm. However, if its scent spreads, it takes the ruling of perfume, and its use is forbidden when going out.

As for adornment and cosmetics: it is permissible for a woman to use them, provided that non-mahram men do not see her, and that they are free from impure or harmful substances. What is sanctioned by fatwa with us is the obligation to cover the face and hands, even if they are not adorned.

As for the colors of the hijab: there is no specific color required, but a woman must avoid gaudy colors and anything that attracts attention because it is an adornment in itself.

And it is obligatory to repeatedly advise the mother and sister in a gentle manner. If they do not desist, then it is obligatory to inform whoever has the authority to prevent them, and it is permissible to boycott those who persistently commit forbidden acts.
