The answer

It is recommended to shave the pubic hair, trim the nails, and observe other practices of the Sunan al-Fitra (practices of natural disposition). There is no specific time set for trimming; rather, it depends on necessity and varies among individuals and situations. As for the hadith of Anas: "A time limit was set for us concerning the trimming of the mustache, paring of the nails, plucking of the armpit hair, and shaving of the pubic hair, that we should not leave them for more than forty nights," this is understood as a recommendation and a preferable act, unless leaving them leads to the accumulation of dirt and impurities, in which case their removal becomes obligatory. It is strongly disliked to delay them beyond forty days, and some scholars have gone as far as to prohibit exceeding this period.
