The answer

Everything is by Allah's decree and destiny. The interpretation of a dream comes to pass as it is interpreted, according to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "A vision is like a bird's leg, as long as it has not been interpreted. Once it is interpreted, it comes to pass." This applies to true visions and correct interpretations, not to jumbled dreams (adghath ahlam) or faulty interpretations. The hadith has been explained to mean that the intended interpreter is a knowledgeable and accurate scholar, not an ignorant person. One should not mention a vision except to someone who is a sincere advisor or a scholar, and the interpreter should be optimistic for the dreamer.
