Is it permissible to vote electronically for the Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, on one of the global websites that presents voting for the purpose of choosing the best man in history?

Contemporary scholars have determined that it is impermissible to participate in electronic polls to choose the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as the best personality, for the following reasons:

1. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is the master of the children of Adam and cannot be compared to others. Allah Almighty has chosen him above all creation.

2. Mentioning the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, alongside disbelievers and atheists diminishes his status, and participation in such a poll is a participation in this diminishing.

3. The majority of internet users are non-Muslims and may intentionally place the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, at the bottom of the list, which causes a setback for Muslim common folk. A complaint should be filed against such websites.

4. These websites seek fame and material gain and may contain content harmful to religion and morals.

5. Granting an option to choose opens the door for slandering and insulting the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. It is forbidden to differentiate between Prophets because it may lead to contempt and disbelief, as Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said: "If a comparison occurs between followers of two religions, it is not safe from one of them disparaging the other, which could lead to disbelief."

6. The possibility of deception and forgery by those running the websites makes the voting futile.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hammoud have issued fatwas prohibiting participation in such polls.

Those with good intentions towards the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, are thanked for their love and are advised to express their love by following his Sunnah, adhering to his Sharia, and embodying his morals.
