Is it not correct to adopt the latest heavenly books or to combine them? And is the Christians' failure to adopt the Psalms—which is newer than the Torah—an example of this?

Jesus, peace be upon him, came as a renewer of Moses' law and a confirmer of the Torah. The Injil (Gospel) was revealed to him, in which Jesus clarified the truth concerning what the Children of Israel differed about. He made lawful for them some of what was forbidden and abrogated some rulings of the Torah.

Allah commanded the People of the Injil to judge by what was revealed in it, and He described those who did not judge by it as transgressors. As for the Zabur (Psalms), it did not contain legal rulings but rather wisdom and admonitions.

Muslims do not worship according to the Injil today because it has not been preserved from alteration. The Qur'an is the dominant scripture over previous books and a witness to them. Whatever it agrees with is truth, and whatever it contradicts is falsehood that has been corrupted.
