Did the Four Rightly Guided Caliphs issue a fatwa that eating camel meat does not nullify wudu?

Some scholars, such as Al-Nawawi, attributed the saying that eating camel meat does not nullify ablution to the Rightly Guided Caliphs. However, Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and Sheikh Al-Albani denied this, clarifying that what was transmitted from them was the abandonment of ablution for anything touched by fire in general, not specifically for camel meat. They also explained that the hadiths mentioning the Companions eating meat and praying without ablution do not specify camel meat, but rather mention meat in general. These should be understood as referring to meat other than camel meat, in accordance with the Shari'ah. It is authentically reported from Jabir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that they used to perform ablution after eating camel meat, but not after eating sheep meat.
