The answer

Firstly: If a man contracts marriage with a woman, she becomes his wife, and it is permissible for them to enjoy each other except for intercourse. The husband is required to be patient until the agreed-upon time of consummation, and the wife must refrain from intercourse if he requests it.

Secondly: The husband should examine the problems that have emerged before consummation. If they are solvable, he should continue the marriage and request to take his wife. If they are not solvable and there is a fear that the marital life will not be stable, he may divorce her and pay her the full Mahr (dowry). She may, by her own free will, relinquish a portion of it.

Thirdly: If the husband wishes for the marriage to continue and the wife's family insists on divorce, the decisive factor is the wife's own opinion. If she does not wish for a divorce, he should hold onto her. If she wishes for a divorce due to the problems, he should divorce her.
