The Islamic Ummah is submissive and humiliated due to "weakness" (wahan): love of the world and aversion to death. Others believe that this hadith applies perfectly to the present time, as Muslims today are numerous but preoccupied with worldly matters and fear death, which has made them fear their enemies. Therefore, deducing from this hadith what is afflicting Muslims in Sham (Levant) regarding the nations conspiring against them is correct.
