Does God bless the oppressor so that he may persist in his wrongdoing?
Blessings are attained through piety and righteous deeds, for Allah the Almighty says: "And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth." As for injustice and sins, they are causes of deprivation and the absence of blessings, as in the story of the owners of the garden who were deprived of it because of their intention to deprive the poor. Allah may also tempt some disobedient individuals by opening up provisions for them as a trial, and then destroy them, as He says: "So when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We opened to them the doors of every [good] thing until, when they rejoiced in that which they were given, We seized them suddenly." Therefore, the unjust person must repent, rid himself of injustices, and fear Allah to attain his desire.
