What is the meaning of "arrogance" (al-kibr) mentioned in the Hadith: "No one who has a mustard seed's weight of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise"? Is boasting about buying a new car, even if it doesn't manifest in one's actions, considered a form of this arrogance? And will the one who does not enter Paradise due to arrogance be eternally damned to Hell?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, clarified that pride (kibr) is "battering the truth and despising people." Scholars have explained "battering the truth" as rejecting and denying it out of arrogance and tyranny, and "despising people" as holding them in contempt. Pride differs from a person's desire for his garment to be beautiful, for Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. The meaning of "He who has an atom's weight of pride in his heart will not enter Paradise" is that he will not enter it at first.
