What is the ruling on having a small guitar figurine in a picture frame?

Hanging pictures of inanimate objects is permissible in principle. However, hanging pictures of musical instruments like a guitar is not permissible because it elevates their status, and indicates love and approval for them. These instruments are blameworthy and forbidden in Islamic law, and they must be destroyed. The majority of scholars have ruled that singing and musical instruments are forbidden, and they have mandated the breaking of these instruments. The least that can be said about hanging pictures of musical instruments is that it is disliked. One can try to discreetly manage the situation with the mother and persuade her to stop hanging them, replacing them with something more beautiful and better.
