What is the limit of the hypocrite in Islam?

Hypocrisy is of two types:

1. Hypocrisy of belief (hypocrisy of the heart): This expels one from the fold of Islam. Its practitioner is the apostate who outwardly professes Islam but inwardly conceals disbelief. His punishment is execution if he does not repent before his apostasy is discovered.

2. Hypocrisy of action (hypocrisy of the limbs): This does not expel one from the fold of Islam. Its signs include: treachery, lying in speech, betrayal of covenants, and wickedness during disputes. There is no prescribed punishment for this, but its practitioner is subject to discretionary punishment (ta'zir) that deters him.
