What is meant by the Hadith: "The world is cursed, and cursed is what is in it, except for the remembrance of Allah, or a scholar, or a student"?

The Hadith: "Behold, the world is cursed, and everything in it is cursed, except for the remembrance of Allah and what follows it, and a scholar or a student of knowledge," indicates that the world and everything in it is distant from Allah, except for what brings one closer to Him. "Cursed" means distant from Allah and the Hereafter because it distracts one from Allah, or that the intended meaning of its curse is the pursuit of its pleasures and the accumulation of its transient possessions. Excluded from this are the remembrance of Allah the Almighty and what follows it, meaning actions that Allah loves, such as obeying Him, following His commands, and avoiding His prohibitions, as well as beneficial knowledge that leads to Allah; for this is the purpose of the world. The scholar and the student of knowledge are mentioned specifically after the general statement to highlight their virtue and importance, and what is meant by them are those who have knowledge of Allah and combine both knowledge and action. Thus, the Hadith shows that the remembrance of Allah is the best of deeds and the head of all worship.
